Participation of Portugal in the Thessaloniki International Fair (September 8-16, 2018)

In an unprecedented initiative, AICEP, the Association Home From Portugal and NERLEI - Business Association of the Leiria Region will jointly participate in the 83rd Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), which will take place from 8 to 16 September in Thessaloniki, the second largest city of Greece.

Corresponding to the invitation that AICEP issued to these two Associations, Portugal will be represented in Greece under the brand name "Made in Portugal Naturally", in a partnership of total cooperation, focusing on the promotion of home textiles and decorative ceramics and tableware.

“A number of stakeholders, a unique image, a country that takes a position of collaboration, an attitude that will guarantee, without any doubt, sufficient confidence and motivation to affirm itself in the international market” says Isabel Quintas, AICEP specialist in the Home line.

The national participation for the first time in the TIF will be presented in a space of 36 square meters (12 made available by AICEP, 12 by Nerlei and 12 by the Association Home From Portugal), under the coordination of AICEP.

The concept of the Portuguese stand consists of the presentation of three different interiors, in a single space without partitions: a balcony facing the sea/pool, a bedroom and a dining room. The partners involved will bet on the unique brand "Made in Portugal Naturally", with a direct promotion of the sector that they represent during the exhibition, specifically directed to the profile of the visitors.

The hotel sector is the main focus of the Portuguese Home line producers for the Greek market. As the hotel sector is in full development in Greece, TIF constitutes an excellent opportunity to show the capacity of "Made in Portugal" products, distinguished by their quality, design, innovation and customization. An additional favourable factor being the fact that in this Fair participate not only as visitors, but also as exhibitors, countries equally important to the Portuguese sector of home textiles, decorative ceramics and tableware.

“More than promoting Portugal in Greece, we want to show the national product to other potential markets and surprise them by its uniqueness through our ability to know how to do it!” concludes Isabel Quintas.

Thessaloniki International Fair is considered to be the main international fair in Greece and one of the most important events in South Eastern Europe. This is the 83rd edition of TIF, being the United States of America the Honoured County. The 2017 edition had more than 260 thousand visitors, between professionals and public. The fair will be inaugurated by the Greek Prime Minister.
